About Canna-Tsu Feminised
Latitude decides more about a Canna-Tsu crop than anything you buy. New Zealand runs roughly 34 to 47 degrees south, and that span turns one 38/62 hybrid into two different plants: a Kaitaia grower fights airflow and humidity through a muggy February, while a Southland grower is counting the weeks to first frost. Neither problem is about heat. If frost rather than heat is your limit, the strain finder sorts the catalogue by finishing time.
Growing Canna-Tsu in New Zealand Conditions
Indoors the outside world stops mattering and the job is control. Outdoors it is the whole brief.
Upper North Island β Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty. The longest season in the country and the wettest finish. Bud rot, not sunshine, is what costs you a crop here, so plant where morning air moves and thin the interior early rather than admiring a dense canopy in January. More open flower architecture is an advantage through a humid autumn.
Lower North Island. Hawke's Bay and Gisborne are the driest and sunniest stretch; Taranaki, ManawatΕ« and Wellington trade that for rain and wind. Wind decides how tall you let a plant get more than the genetics do.
South Island. Nelson, Tasman and Marlborough offer the best outdoor conditions nationally β high sunshine hours, low summer rainfall. Canterbury, Otago and Southland run a genuinely short season where flowering runs 60-70 days is the number that matters, because everything is a race against the first frost. A greenhouse or polytunnel buys the fortnight that makes the difference. If your season is short, the outdoor-season list is the better starting point.
Reading the Effects Honestly
Effect descriptions are the least reliable part of any seed listing, this one included. What is defensible: this is a 38/62 hybrid at 11% THC, commonly described as relaxed, happy, euphoric, with caryophyllene leading the terpene profile.
What is not defensible is any promise about how it will feel for you. Dose, tolerance, setting and the phenotype you happen to pop all move the outcome more than the strain name does.
Growing a few and selecting the keeper is the only way to know. That is what a pack of feminised seeds is for.
The Terpenes
Caryophyllene leads, myrcene sits behind it, and humulene runs underneath.
Temperature changes what you get. Vaporised low, around 180 to 188 degrees, myrcene and humulene come through cleanly while caryophyllene stays in the background. Combusted, caryophyllene dominates and the finer detail is largely lost. Same flower, two different experiences.
Who It Suits
Canna-Tsu is rated easy. That makes it a reasonable first grow β it survives inconsistent watering and imprecise feeding without collapsing, which is what a first season mostly consists of. Being a photoperiod means you decide when it flowers, and therefore how big it gets.
