Before you chase a parcel
Two ways in
Either the tracking number from your dispatch email or your RKSNZ order number will pull up the same timeline. Whichever you have to hand is fine.
No place names, and that is expected
NZ Post reports what happened to a parcel without saying where, so our entries show a time and a status but no town. Nothing is missing — that is simply the level of detail the network publishes.
Rural deliveries run on their own clock
If your address carries an RD number, the final leg is handed to a rural contractor who runs set days rather than a daily round. Add two or three days to whatever the timeline suggests.
Ready to collect
When a parcel cannot be left safely it goes to a box lobby, a PostShop or a nearby collection point and the status here changes to say so. Bring photo ID. Collection points hold parcels for a limited time before returning them, so do not leave it too long.
Island to island
Anything crossing between the North and South Islands, or heading for the far south and the West Coast, sits in transit longer than a main-centre delivery. Public holidays add another day each.
