About Mac 1 Auto
Latitude decides more about a Mac 1 crop than anything you buy. New Zealand runs roughly 34 to 47 degrees south, and that span turns one 50/50 hybrid into two different plants: a Kaitaia grower fights airflow and humidity through a muggy February, while a Southland grower is counting the weeks to first frost. Neither problem is about heat. If frost rather than heat is your limit, the strain finder sorts the catalogue by finishing time.
Growing Mac 1 in New Zealand Conditions
Indoors the outside world stops mattering and the job is control. Outdoors it is the whole brief.
Upper North Island β Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty. The longest season in the country and the wettest finish. Bud rot, not sunshine, is what costs you a crop here, so plant where morning air moves and thin the interior early rather than admiring a dense canopy in January. More open flower architecture is an advantage through a humid autumn.
Lower North Island. Hawke's Bay and Gisborne are the driest and sunniest stretch; Taranaki, ManawatΕ« and Wellington trade that for rain and wind. Wind decides how tall you let a plant get more than the genetics do.
South Island. Nelson, Tasman and Marlborough offer the best outdoor conditions nationally β high sunshine hours, low summer rainfall. Canterbury, Otago and Southland run a genuinely short season where flowering runs 10-12 weeks seed to harvest is the number that matters, because everything is a race against the first frost. What Mac 1 Is Like
Reported effects cluster around creative, euphoric, happy. At 27% THC that is a meaningful figure rather than a decorative one, and the sensible approach with anything in this range is to start lower than you think and wait longer than feels necessary.
The 50/50 balance shapes where it lands: even-handed, with the dominant direction shifting by dose more than by time of day. Tolerance moves this more than any other variable, which is why two people describe the same jar differently.

The Terpenes

Temperature changes what you get. Vaporised low, around 180 to 188 degrees, limonene and myrcene come through cleanly while caryophyllene stays in the background. Combusted, caryophyllene dominates and the finer detail is largely lost. Same flower, two different experiences.
